You are warmly invited to the fifth meeting of the New Forest Travel Plan Network, a forum for the New Forest area aiming to encourage more sustainable and active travel for those working in the region.

The meeting will be on Wednesday 29th March, LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED from12pm and then the meeting will start at 12:30, we will close by 14:00. The New Forest National Park Authority will kindly be hosting us again. The Town Hall is a 10 minute walk from Lymington Town railway station. More detailed directions will be sent out a few days beforehand. As lunch will be provided, please let me know if you have any dietary requirements.

We hope the meeting will provide a stimulating couple of hours for sharing ideas and good practice on how to encourage staff from workplaces in the region to travel more sustainably. Please see below for the agenda, and for more information about the Travel Plan Networks.

We have held three previous meetings in Lymington and have had attendees from the District Council, South West Trains, Waitrose stores as well as other local businesses.

With the help of initial funding from Hampshire County Council, Sustrans has organised the meetings and coordinated the network through the My Journey Hampshire project. More about what Travel Plan Networks can be found at

12.30 My Journey Travel Training for employees - How can you support you employees to travel to work sustainably? Ben Fieldhouse, My Journey Hampshire Travel Trainner, has been running Travel Plan Trainings sessions with Job Seekers in Hampshire for the last couple of years. He wil speak about this job seekers project and also give advice on how to train your employees to plan journeys sustainably.

1.15pm Discussion - How could your workplace better support employees to chose sustainable travel? How can we make use of these resources in our workplaces?

1.30pm The National Cycle Network Past Present & Future - Nick Farthing, Former Sustrans Infrastructure Manager for Hampshire and the south will speak about the history of the national cycle network, how it is managed with volunteers and Sustrans staff and what lies in store for the future of the network in your area.

1.50pm Closing remarks

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

NFPA reception is on the left as you enter Lymington Town Hall. Lymington Town Hall is a short walk from Lymington Town train station and next to bus routes operated by from Southampton and Bournemouth respectively. There is cycle parking on the east side of the building adjacnet to the NFDC. This carpark is Pay & Display should you need to drive.
