This summer saw Sustrans deliver a number of free active sessions for children and adults at Cornerstone Primary School. The sessions included a led walk and Learn to Ride, all aimed at giving participants the confidence to walk, wheel and cycle in the Whiteley area.
The sessions received some great feedback, one family who attended a Learn to Ride session told Sustrans South,
“Just wanted to say a huge thank you to John and Stu who put on the (ditch the) stabilisers course at Cornerstone Primary school on Tuesday last week. My daughter was super nervous about going, but by Thursday….she was whizzing around!!! We’re now spending time learning how to use her gears effectively and I’ve now bought myself a bike to get moving with her too! Can’t thank you all enough!”
Unfortunately, the Bike Skills sessions toward the end of the school holidays had to be cancelled due to the weather, Sustrans will look to re-schedule these in the October half-term. Please keep an eye on Sustrans social media channels for conformation.
