Sholing Infant School scoots its way to top prize in Inter-School Scooter Challenge

Sholing Infant School has been named the winner of this year's Southampton Inter-School Scooter Challenge. From 18-22 June, over 3,000 pupils across nine Southampton schools took part in the week long challenge, run by My Journey to encourage children on the school run to swap their usual car journey for an energising scoot instead.

Data from all of the participating schools confirmed it was an exceptionally close-run competition, but in the end it was Sholing Infant School that went on to scoop the hotly contested first prize after achieving the highest average number of days on which pupils scooted to school. Bitterne Manor Primary School followed closely behind, with Sholing Junior School coming in third place.

In recognition of the achievement, Sholing Infant won a Scooterpod to store pupils' scooters, a Razor Scooter and family day out vouchers for two pupils. Runners up Bitterne Manor and Sholing Junior received a Razor Scooter and adult scooter respectively.
