Southampton 2040 Transport Strategy - Survey now open
Southampton City Council is calling for your views on its draft transport strategy to transform Southampton's transport network over the next twenty years.
Connected Southampton – Transport Strategy 2040 forms part of the fourth Local Transport Plan for the city and proposes a number of ideas and proposals, which you can now have your say on.
These include:
-
Developing a Mass Rapid Transit for Southampton and the wider area that transforms the public transport experience
-
Creating a Liveable City Centre where it is easy for people to walk and cycle
-
Developing a network of Active Travel Zones in local neighbourhoods that discourage through traffic and encourage people to adopt new, more active ways of making local journeys
-
Completing a comprehensive Cycle Network for Southampton that enables people to cycle safely and establishes Southampton as a true cycling city
-
Establishing a network of Park and Ride sites that serve Southampton and large employers
-
Supporting growth and the smooth operation of the city’s main employment areas, ensuring they are served by efficient, modern and reliable transport connections
-
Working towards a Zero Emission City to make Southampton a clean and healthy place to live
You can read the full strategy and have your say on all of these plans by taking part in the public consultation at southampton.gov.uk/ltp4
