The Golden Mile for your school

The Golden Mile is a safe, simple and measurable health and physical activity initiative accessible to all pupils regardless of age or ability.

By participating in the Golden Mile project your school will not only provide your pupils with greater access to physical activity but you will also see the wider gains of regular activity with improved health benefits, improved classroom behaviour and concentration levels, team work and leadership. 

The Golden Mile Festival, being held at Winchester Sports Stadium on 11 July 2017 from 12.00-2.30pm, is a celebration and an official launch of the Golden Mile and gives schools the opportunity to see the Golden Mile in action and receive the training required so that you can leave ready to start.

If you would like to attend, please confirm via email by no later than Monday 26 June 2017. A maximum of 5 people, including staff and pupils, may attend from each school. If you would like to use the Golden Mile for your STARS accreditation, it will be under ‘Other walking/scooting initiative’ – R16-18.
