Walk

Walking is simple, free and one of the easiest ways to get more active and become healthier. Like other physical activities, walking releases endorphins which improves your mood and reduces stress. It can also help with concentration and walking with friends means you get more time to catch up.

Developers of Whiteley Meadows have provided designed new routes alongside Botley Road, Bluebell Way and Whiteley Way to benefit cycling and safe walking. In addition, wayfinding signs will guide you around the area and streets will be designed to encourage residents to walk safely on these routes.

As a house-warming gift, we offer you a £100 travel voucher which can be spent on weatherproof clothing, footwear and other outdoor gear.

Want to see your new area? There are many free led and self-guided walks in the area. These include healthy walks of varying distances which are guided by trained volunteer Walk Leaders; self-guided walks in Hampshire and the Whiteley area offered by Fareham Borough Council and a Whiteley Wander walk map produced by Whiteley Town Council. You can also find walks from various train stations here.

Like the idea of a Mother’s meeting on the go? Socialise is a walking group for new mums in the area and is a great way to meet new people.
