Competition Terms and Conditions for Walk with Wheels Week

1. The Promoter of this prize draw is the Hampshire County Council Travel Planning Team at The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD (the “Promoter”).

2. The competition will start on Monday 18 May 2026 and close on Friday 5 June 2026.
    Entries received after 11.59pm on Friday 5 June 2026 will not be counted.

3. To enter,

Children’s competition: entrants must fill in the Snap entry form, choose a category for their photo, upload a photo of an active journey under that category, describe the journey and what the child enjoyed about the journey. Entries can also be sent by post. The printed photo and contact details must be sent to Travel Planning Team, Universal Services Directorate, Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD.

Settings’ competition: entrants must fill in the Snap entry form with details about the active travel event they held during the challenge week. They can upload photos, screenshots or attachments showing how they promoted and delivered the event.

4. By completing either the children’s or settings’ competition entry form, entrants are consenting to Hampshire County Council Travel Planning Team processing their  personal data for the purposes of this competition and subject to these terms and conditions. Further details can be found in our privacy notice below.

5. Entrants must be aged 18 and over and be UK residents. This promotion excludes any employees of the Hampshire County Council/Hampshire County Council Travel Planning Team, their families, agencies or anyone else connected with this promotion.

6. One (1) entry allowed per person. However, multiple individual entries may be submitted together (for example, a parent on behalf of children or a school on behalf of  its pupils). Incomplete or late entries will not be accepted. The Promoter reserves the right to discount or disqualify any inappropriate or offensive entries.

7. The competition is free to enter and there is no purchase necessary.

8. Entries received by post will be entered into the competition, as long as they are received by Friday 5 June 2026. Postal entries cannot be returned to the entrant. Once the competition has been judged, any paper entries will be destroyed.

9. Children’s competition: There is 1 prize per category to be won. The themed categories are:

o Happy journey,
o Nature spotters journey,
o Weather-related journey,
o Be bright journey,
o Time together journey

A maximum of 5 winners prizes will be awarded. Where a category receives no eligible entries no prize will be awarded for that category. The winner of the competition will receive a prize appropriate to their age from a selection of a book, nature-themed game, nature kit or waterproof wear. Maximum individual prize value of £35.  

Settings’ competition: There are 2 prizes to be won. One winner will have the choice of one of the following: 

• a balance bike with helmet and lock,
• a set of children’s waterproofs, 
• a welly boot rack or
• an outdoor learning kit.
Maximum prize value of £250.   

One runner up will have the choice of one of the following:  

• a road safety role play kit,  
• a den making kit
• Living Streets Little Feet Pack.  
Maximum prize value of £100.

10. The prize is non-negotiable, non-refundable, non-transferable and non-exchangeable and no cash alternative offered.

11. The Promoter reserves the right to provide a substitute prize of equal or greater value should the prize granted become unavailable for reasons beyond its control.

12. Children’s competition: The entries will be judged by the Travel Planning Team at Hampshire County Council.  The winners will be notified by Tuesday 30 June 2026 or as soon as practicable after this date via email to the contact details supplied.

Settings’ competition: The entries will be judged by the Travel Planning Team at Hampshire County Council. The winner and runner up will notified by Tuesday 30 June 2026 or as soon as practical after this date via email to the contact details supplied.

13. The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winners and runner up. If either the winners or the runner up cannot be contacted or are not available, or have not claimed their prize within 28 of days of being notified, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant as judged by the Travel Planning Team at Hampshire County Council.

14. A confirmation email with details will be sent to the contact details supplied.

Children’s competition: The winners’ parents/carers will be asked for the address details to send their prizes to. They can choose to have them sent to their home or early years setting.
Settings competition: The winner and runner up will be sent their prizes once they have chosen their prize. These will be sent to the early years setting.

15. The Promoter will use the entrant’s personal data (first name, age and early years setting attending) for carrying out the competition promotion and future event promotion. The Promoter will use the personal data given with the entry to contact the winner. The Promoter will also contact the winners’ early years setting to let them know they have a child with a winning entry. Please see privacy notice.

17. You agree to be bound by the decisions of the Promoter, which are final in all matters relating to the promotion. No correspondence will be entered into.

18. Entrants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.

19. The Promoter reserves the right to update and amend these terms and conditions at any time to the extent necessary to comply with any applicable laws, regulations or other guidance.

20. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law and the parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England.

Competition Privacy Notice

Hampshire County Council collects information about you to provide you with Travel Planning Services and to inform how our services are delivered. We will use the information (i) to contact if you or your child has won in a competition (ii) if you or your child is a winner or runner up to use for future event promotion (iii) if you are a member if a Hampshire County Council school who is submitting competition entries on behalf of your pupils (iv) for analysing where journeys to school are being made from (v) to contact you about a service that you have requested further information on (vi) to support us in writing a travel plan on behalf of a school to summarise travel and access issues, and propose solutions (vii) if there is a safeguarding matter that we become aware of highlighted in the survey forms, we will need to share this with the Headteacher for them to action, where appropriate.

The legal basis for our use of this information is where the data subject has given explicit consent to processing for specified purposes. All data will remain within the UK/EEA and will only be shared with third parties where they are undertaking data processing on behalf of Hampshire County Council. We may share your personal information with the organisation named in this survey or, where there is a competition and the prize is to be given by another agency, we would provide them with your details if you are a winning entry.

We will keep your personal information for up to five years plus the current year, after which it will be deleted or destroyed.
