Ferry

Passenger ferries form vital links in Hampshire’s public transport system, often allowing people to avoid the need for much longer trips.

There are a number of passenger ferry services operating within Hampshire. Full timetable and ticketing information can be found on their websites using the links below:

A ferry link for car and foot passengers is also available between Lymington in Hampshire and Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight, delivered by Wightlink and other routes from Southampton are provided by Red Funnel. Foot passengers can also travel to the Isle of Wight with Hovertravel.

Most of the ferry operators (apart from the Hamble - Warsash route) accept Solent Go travelcards, which can also be used with multiple bus operators, so you only need one travelcard for all of your journeys in South Hampshire. Smart, eh? You can purchase tickets using your Solent Go travelcard from the Solent Go website. To top up and upload tickets, there are new ticket machines recently installed at the ferry terminals.
