Workplaces: Get the most out of the North Whiteley Travel Plan

As part of this growing community, your organisation plays a vital role in shaping how people travel in and around North Whiteley. The everyday choices your staff and visitors make have a direct impact on congestion, air quality and wellbeing.

We want to work with you. Your local knowledge and insight are key to creating smarter, greener travel options for everyone. In return, we’ll support you to make the most of the North Whiteley Travel Plan and unlock the benefits of effective travel planning for your organisation and staff.

Ways your organisation can get involved

Host a Bike Repair Stand

Why it helps: Makes cycling safer, more visible and more convenient.
Nominate your workplace to host a community bike repair stand and support active travel for residents and employees. We’ll assess feasibility and get in touch if your site is well placed to help more people in North Whiteley cycle — and cycle safely.

Join Local Transport Groups

Why it helps: Local voices shape better services.
We’re establishing local bus and bike user groups and would value your input. If you have employees interested in cycling, walking and public transport, get involved to ensure your workplace has a voice in future transport decisions.

Offer Discounts or Vouchers

Why it helps: Incentives drive engagement and make active travel more accessible.
Provide discounts or vouchers to support the Travel Plan and encourage participation in its initiatives. Incentives can motivate staff and residents to get involved and directly support active travel by making the purchase of bikes and accessories more affordable. All contributions will be publicised as part of the Travel Plan — helping to raise your profile and bring customers through your doors.

Join Modeshift STARS

Why it helps: A proven framework with recognition.
Register your workplace with Modeshift STARS for free to gain recognition for your sustainable travel initiatives and demonstrate your commitment to employee wellbeing and environmental responsibility. Travel planning through STARS can help reduce parking pressures, improve staff satisfaction and retention, and support your corporate sustainability goals. Accreditation provides a clear framework for continuous improvement and a public way to celebrate your achievements.

Share Workplace Support Needs

Why it helps: We invest where it makes the biggest difference.
Tell us what travel related support would help your workplace most — whether it’s facilities, training, incentives or infrastructure. Your input helps us understand real world barriers and priorities, shaping future funding bids and initiatives that directly respond to the needs of local employers and their staff.

Get Involved in Events

Why it helps: Readymade engagement with measurable impact.
Register your interest in events like the Commuter Challenge and Clean Air Day to engage staff and promote sustainable travel. We’ll contact you when initiatives go live and provide materials and support so you can deliver engaging content and activities that help staff make healthier, greener choices.
