Cycling is a low emission, low impact exercise which can reduce stress and is one of the easiest ways to fit exercise into your daily routine. It can often be quicker to cycle then to travel by car for local journeys. Cycling can take a third of the time it takes to walk the same journey.
FREE Learn to Ride session in Whitehill and Bordon
Would you like your child to learn to ride a bike without stabilsers?
This is the perfect opportunity to join a free Learn to Ride session at The Shed, aimed at children from Year R to Year 5. The session will be delivered by Hampshire County Council's Outdoor Education Team as part of the Whitehill & Bordon Community Travel Plan.
When: Thursday, 27 August 2026 – choose from either 13.00 or 14.30
What's included?
- A free one-hour small group instructor-led Learn to Ride session
- Bikes and helmets provided if required

East Hampshire residents can hire bikes and e-bikes for free from Cycle Sphere based in The Shed, Whitehill & Bordon. Each bike can be hired for a maximum of two hours and proof of identification will be required. Search Lets Ride for a range of local led rides and Lets Ride Breeze for women only rides.
Cycle with others and explore the local area by joining a group or taking part in a led ride.
Longer distance cycle routes
Use the My Journey Planner above or the Sustrans National Cycle Network planner to help you explore the local area by bike. Sustrans Route 22 runs from London to Portsmouth and passes through Whitehill and Bordon.
The Shipwrights Way, a long distance route of 50 miles, starts at Alice Holt Forest, passes through Whitehill and Bordon and finishes in Portsmouth. Visit Alice Holt Forest and explore their cycle trails.

There are a number of cycle stores around the area to help you saddle up and take to the road or cycle path:
Cycle Sphere in Bordon – Located at The Shed in Bordon for bike servicing and repairs, along with a range of bikes including ebikes/cargo bikes to hire or purchase. They also offer local led rides.
