Modeshift STARS Regional School Travel Awards 2026/27 winners announced

Schools across Hampshire have been recognised for their outstanding achievements in promoting walking, wheeling, scooting, cycling and other forms of sustainable travel at the Modeshift STARS Regional School Travel Awards 2026/27.

A total of 13 Hampshire schools were nominated for this year's awards, which celebrate schools that have achieved Modeshift STARS accreditation by demonstrating excellence in encouraging active and sustainable travel on the school journey.

We are delighted to announce the Hampshire Local Authority STARS School of the Year winners

  • Early Years Establishment of the Year: Stepping Stones Pre-School
  • SEND School of the Year: Riverside Community Special School
  • Primary School of the Year: South Farnborough Junior School
  • Secondary School of the Year: Noadswood School

We are especially pleased to congratulate Noadswood School, which was also selected as the Modeshift STARS Secondary School of the Region for the South East.

As a regional winner, Noadswood School will be invited to represent the South East at the National STARS School Travel Awards, taking place in London next March.

The achievements of all nominated schools reflect their ongoing commitment to supporting active and sustainable travel, helping pupils and families choose healthier, safer and more sustainable ways to travel to and from school.

Modeshift STARS, supported by the Department for Transport, is the national school travel awards scheme that recognises schools for their excellence in supporting active and sustainable travel. Free for Hampshire schools to use, the online platform helps schools develop and deliver a school travel plan and record sustainable travel initiatives and achievements.
