Healthy Streets Audit
Conduct a Healthy Streets Audit to help transform our streets into healthier environments. This evidence-based approach focuses on public health through better street design and management. Score your chosen street using the Healthy Streets tool, add photos and notes, and share your findings. This activity is great for both individuals and groups. Simply go out onto your chosen street, open this tool (Home - Healthy Streets) on your phone and score your street. You can score how a street feels or measure it quantitatively.

Participate in Clean Air Day by arranging or joining group walks, discovering new routes, or walking part or all of the way to work. Walking promotes well-being, reduces air pollution, and fosters community. Explore these options and enjoy a walk this Clean Air Day!

Cycle
Cycling is not only a fantastic way to stay fit and healthy, but it also plays a crucial role in reducing air pollution and promoting sustainable living. By choosing to cycle, we can significantly cut down on harmful emissions from vehicles, improve air quality, and create a cleaner, greener environment. Whether you're commuting to work, running errands, or simply enjoying a leisurely ride, cycling offers numerous benefits for both individuals and communities.
Organise a Group Bike Ride: Encourage employees or community members to participate in a group bike ride to promote cycling as a clean and healthy mode of transport. Check out Cycling UK for tips and advice.
Bike Maintenance Workshops and Partner with Local Bike Shops: Collaborate with local bike shops for discounts on bikes and accessories, to make cycling more accessible. They may be able to support you in hosting workshops to teach basic bike maintenance and repair skills, ensuring bikes are safe and efficient for daily use.
Bike Training: Share the Canny Commuting Webinars, half-hour lunchtime Zoom meet-ups, where each episode focuses on a different aspect of active and sustainable commuting.
Install Bike Racks: Improve infrastructure by installing bike racks at workplaces or community centres to encourage cycling.
Promote Cycling Routes: Share information about local cycling routes and paths that are safe and scenic, encouraging more people to cycle.

It also supports Clean Air Day's aims by promoting environmental stewardship, raising awareness about air quality issues, and encouraging sustainable practices. By volunteering, you contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment while enriching your own life.
