Clean Air Day - Schools

Clean Air Day is the UK’s largest air pollution campaign. Taking place in June each year, it is our chance to raise awareness about air pollution and make the air that we breathe cleaner and healthier!

In the UK, the transport sector is the biggest source of greenhouse gases that are contributing to global climate change. Clean Air Day encourages schools to learn about air pollution and take practical, accessible and positive actions. By working together and taking small steps, our collective action can create big changes.

Clean Air Day 2025 - Banner competition for secondary schools

Clean Air Day 2025 not only gave school pupils an opportunity to talk about air pollution, but also a chance to win in our air quality banner competition. Pupils could individually or collectively, create a catchy slogan to highlight the issue of air quality to parents, carers and the wider community.

Over 50 fantastic entries were received and we are now pleased to announce our winner and runners-up. Well done and thank you to all those who took part.

Winning slogan:

Do your share to clean the air! by a pupil from Toynbee School. They have won a £50 Love2Shop voucher and their banner will be made available to secondary schools in Hampshire.

Runners-up:

Cut the emissions for our clean air ambitions by a tutor group from The Hayling College.

Be part of the solution, not the pollution by a pupil from Wildern School.

Both runners-up receive a £25 Love2Shop voucher.

The competition is fully funded by the UK Government.
