The Clean Air Challenge

Walk, wheel, scoot and cycle for cleaner air
The Clean Air Challenge is a free event for Hampshire primary schools, designed to inspire healthier, greener journeys. By joining the challenge, your school will help promote the benefits of active and sustainable travel for cleaner air, better health and greater wellbeing.
Let’s get as many families as possible walking, wheeling, scooting and cycling between 16 and 20 June 2025.
Take part, make a difference and your school could win an amazing prize!

The competition
Your school has a chance to win an air quality kit, scooter gear or a gardening set by taking part in our Clean Air Challenge competition, fully funded by the UK Government.
Organise an event or deliver an initiative during the challenge week that encourages more active and sustainable journeys. You will receive a list of suggested activities to choose from or you can get creative with your own ideas!
My Journey wants to ensure The Clean Air Challenge is as inclusive as possible. If active travel to your school isn’t possible for all families, we encourage you to adapt the event in a way that suits your school community and location.
As the week encompasses National Clean Air Day, your school may want to hold your event on Thursday 19 June and join a collective effort to reduce car emissions and improve air quality around your school. Telling us about your event or initiative will form your competition entry.
