Bus

Avoid the driving and parking costs and let someone else do the driving instead. There is an extensive bus service connecting you with the whole of the Solent area. Whiteley Meadows has been designed to allow the extended 28/28A service to serve the development initially linking Whiteley Meadows to Botley and Swanwick stations and Fareham in Spring/Summer 2020. As the development grows the 28/28A will extend to Hedge End.

Public transport connections from Whiteley Meadows to Botley station, Swanwick station and Fareham will be introduced in early 2020. It is intended that these will be expanded as the development progresses so that, within three years, more frequent services will connect you to these destinations and to Hedge End.

Venturing outside of the local area? Long distance routes, X4 and X5, offer direct links between Portsmouth and Southampton, and Fareham and Southampton .

Curious about the kids? Whiteley Meadows will have a number of schooling options in the future, with Cornerstone Primary School relocating to the area in September 2021 (bus service will be available for current students). Currently, Swanmore College offers a service to students in Whiteley.

  • Peter Symonds College (692 Stagecoach) which operates via the Botley Road between Swanwick and Botley stations
  • Barton Peveril College (618 Bluestar) which currently serves Whiteley
  • Itchen College (192 Xelabus) operates along the Rookery Avenue area of Whiteley.

Service 28/28A extended into Whiteley Meadows

The existing Fareham to Whiteley First bus service 28 / 28 A will be extended through the development. This has been made possible by the extension of two existing roads (Bluebell Way and Whiteley Way) through Whiteley Meadows towards Botley Road. The full service will run between Fareham and Hedge End by 2020 and prior to that will travel into the southern half of the estate, turn and head towards Botley Road along Bluebell Way.
